With the green Shivaliks providing an idyllic setting and the Giri Ganga River adding to its charm, the Camp provides the much-needed break from the pressures of daily routine that we all long for. We haven’t met a
single human who can resist the call of the mountains. There is a magnetic pull
attached to it. That same pull has brought us together at Giri Camp. After being
in different professions at different cities, we have realised our calling –
mountains. And the nature beckoned.
So here we are alongside the Giri river catching on the lost time in the lap of
the nature. Our camp take special pride in presenting to our guests a place to
unwind in isolation and that too without inhibitions.
Our motive behind the venture is to rekindle the spirit of being in the woods
and get closer to the mother nature. We have tried hard not to meddle with the
surroundings and thus keeping the sanctity of the site in place.
We all are students of nature and invite everyone out there to travel a few
steps with us on this intoxicating journey.
Activities:
Water, lovely
water: Kayaking and swimming in River Giri is a joy you could partake almost any time you feel like as the Camp is right on the bank. If swimming you think is strenuous, just soaking your feet in the flowing water with a book in your hand from a selection available in the Camp is another option.
Fishing: Available on request is a 'Fisherman's Walk', wherein you can accompany a local fisherman and learn about his tricks of the trade and of course more about the Giri and its habitual tricks and turns.
Purely human: You have the option of other sports -- both indoors (Carrom, Chess, Scrabble and Monopoly) and outdoors (volleyball on the sand and cricket). And as the sun sets, have a barb-e-cue on the river side along with a bonfire.
Trekking: Rekindle your wonder lust by hiking into the woods and explore the ways the locals have adopted to adjust in these hard conditions.
Nature’s paradise: If you are interested in flora and fauna, chances are that you will encounter many of the rare animals and medicinal plants after almost every step you will take around the vicinity of the camp.

How to get there: Solan is 300 km from Delhi via Chandigarh. From Solan, take a right turn on Rajgarh Road and after 20 km, from Maryog, take another right. After a km, turn left on the dirt road till Chamyoga (10 km). A walk of around a km along the river bed will bring you to Giri Camp. Pickup is available from Solan to the Camp at extra cost. If you prefer travelling by train, take Shatabdi, Himalayan Queen or Kalka-Howrah Express till Kalka, and change to narrow gauge till Solan.
